About Costa Rica

Costa Rica is by far one of the most popular tourist destinations in Latin America with so much to offer despite its relatively small size.

Covered in greenery, Costa Rica offers a variety of jungle regions including rainforests and cloud forests, all of which feature their own unique flora and fauna and specific range of biodiversity. Tortuguero National Park, for example, is made up of a number of jungle canals and is home to important nesting sites for the Costa Rica Green Turtle. Farther south, the Osa Peninsula is home to Corcovado National Park, declared “the most biologically intense place on Earth in terms of biodiversity” by National Geographic. The Monteverde Cloud Forest, on the other hand, offers a completely different experience with its highland vegetation and wildlife differing greatly from other regions in the country.

Other attractions include the Arenal Volcano, Manuel Antonio National Park and, of course, the country’s many beach towns/destinations. Costa Rica offers great surfing opportunities, specifically on the country’s pacific coast and in the northwestern province of Guanacaste.

Costa Rica also offers a variety of adventure and soft-adventure opportunities including jungle treks, zip-lining, horseback riding, tree-top hanging bridges, white water rafting and much more. The country is also a great destination for families with many family-friendly hotels and tour packages available.

About Guatemala

Guatemala is the heart of the Mayan world, both archaeologically and culturally. The country still very much maintains its indigenous identity as well as its sense of history and culture. Not only is Guatemala home to a number of archaeological sites such as Tikal, the largest Mayan ruins in existence, the country boasts what is considered to be a living Mayan culture with many communities maintaining the traditional indigenous way of life.

The typical tourist circuit includes Antigua, the country’s former capital and current historic epicenter, as well as the indigenous towns of Chichicastenango and Huehuetenango, famous for their traditional indigenous markets. Lake Atitlan, another popular tourist spot, is also included prior to returning to Guatemala City to connect with outbound flights or extensions to Tikal or other areas of Guatemala.

About Honduras

Honduras, whose expanding tourist economy should be taken note of, offers visitors an interesting and diverse mix of tourist attractions including Mayan ruins and culture, ecological attractions and pristine white-sand beaches in the country’s Bay Islands Archipelago. Although the country’s main cities of Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula don’t have much to offer, all international flights arrive in one of the two cities which, as a result, serve as a jumping off point for any itinerary/tour package in Honduras.

Copan, the largest Mayan ruins in the city, is located in the western corner of Honduras, near the border with Guatemala. The city was once one of the most beautiful and important cities of the Mayan civilization and is today one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. Other Mayan sites can also be found nearby.

La Ceiba is friendly city with an inviting small-town feel. Surrounded by lush jungles and scenic mountains, La Ceiba is the center of eco-tourism in Honduras with plenty of ecotours, river rafting and mountain treks available as well as some of the best birding opportunities on the continent. Visitors can also explore the nearby Garifuna villages where they will learn more about the local indigenous population. Most lodge stays include accommodation and guided tours.

Roatan and the Bay Islands Archipelago are the number one beach destination in Honduras. Extensions to Roatan (or one of the less visited Bay Islands) are available for any number of days with plenty of great hotel and accommodation options available.
